Cozumel

This is the first time the weather has messed up our plans. Our day was supposed to be filled with more fun on the beach and snorkeling, but the rough seas and the dark clouds made it so the ship cancelled our excursion that we had booked to take a catamaran to a nearby island to play. We ended up staying close to the ship and doing some shopping instead and nearly got blown away. It actually worked our perfectly because Xandi still wasn't feeling too well and was worried that he would have a very good time. It truly was an answer to prayer, really. Our money was refunded and all that we lost out on is one more day of sunshine.

Grand Cayman

When I think of Grand Cayman, I will always think of chickens! Sure it was sunny, hot, and had beautiful beaches, but the thing that will always stand out in my memory is chickens. We even brought home a print that a local artist painted of a rooster. Wherever you are on the island, in almost every yard, and even on the beach, there are chickens.

We started the day off with a bicycle tour around part of the island. We took a route that we really felt like we got a taste of how the locals live, and we got to ride a long the beach which was beautul and breezy..

Our first stop was the Turtle Farm. We got to see and hold Giant Green Sea Turtles. It was an awesome sight.

Next stop on our bike tour was a rum store to sample all the booze... We opted to people watch and eat some local food. Homemade hot pockets. I can't remember what they called them but they weren't Hot Pockets. Xandi chose chicken, and I got the beef. They were yummy going down, but that choice proved to be a bad one later in the day for Xandi. He got very familiar with the ships toilet. Poor guy. We should have stuck with the booze!

We ended our bike tour in HELL!
For real. Hell, Grand Cayman

Then we hit the beach for some snorkeling. My favorite part of the day!

Then we headed back to the ship for a nice long shower and a nice long nap. Two of my favorite things after a fun filled day!

First Port, Jamaica Man

Picture overload of our first port, Jamaica!

Eating a yummy six course meal on the beach while we were enjoying some live Jamaican entertainment! We stuffed our faces with fresh fruit, Jamaican jerk chicken, curry rice and vegetables, fried plantains, fried bread with papaya jelly, and lots and lots on lemonade. I think we were the only ones on the beach not drinking the rum punch!

After lunch we played in the ocean, and sat under the palm trees while a tropical rain storm went over us. It rained for five minutes and then it was back to being hot and humid. So much fun!

We also did something quite adventurous... Hiked the Dunn's River Falls! We didn't get many pictures because we didn't think about packing the water proof camera and they charged an arm and a leg to buy any pictures that the tour guide took of us. It was pretty awesome though and we will never forget it.

After our fun filled day, we headed back to the ship to wash all the sun and sand off of us and then we relaxed on the top deck of our ship and watched the beautiful Jamaican sunset while we listened to the oldies and singing along.
Did you know, there hasn't been a sunset that I haven't loved!
