Happy Valentines Day

I can't believe that this part of my parenting career is almost over. Only a few more years of last minute Valentines Day boxes in my future. Gentry had zero help with his 'blast off" box, and Delanie was quite creative with her version of a hot air balloon. I have some pretty creative kids!

Today's the day...

After years of suffering with poor sleeping due to lack of oxygen from oversized tonsils, Delanie is going under the sharp spoon to have her tonsils taken out. No more snoring as loud as her dad! She is so excited right now...she obviously has no idea what's about to happen and how awful she is going to feel. we'll be saying "poor lil bug" In about an hour.

It's Delanie Day!

I cannot believe that it has been 10 years since this little cutie patootie joined our family. I don't think there was a more anticipated baby ever to be born, with three very excited older sibling counting down the days.

You are very loved Delanie Ann Schmalz!

She brightens our days with her witty personality and her sweet heart.
She is such an outgoing go-getter, it is going to be so fun to see what the next 10 years brings.
She has been working very hard in school this year and it's paying off. She has aced her times tables, is quite the writer, and speaks Spanish like she knows what she's talking about!
She loves to be a little social butterfly, and absolutely loves her friends.
She loves animals so much and thinks that being a vet would be a fun job.
She is more comfortable in a pair of shorts and her Converse than she is in a dress.
She is a horrible sleeper, even still.
Her favorite food is taco soup.
Her favorite color is orange.
Her favorite thing to do is swim.
She is a great sister and friend and daughter, and I am the lucky girl that gets to be her mom! A true beauty, inside and out!

First Day

Third Grade
Fifth Grade
These two got up and got ready for the day to find out that the high school was on lock down thanks to a bomb threat. They ended up putting back on their pj's and walked around the neighborhood rubbing it in to all the little kids that they got to have one more day of summer. We'll try this again tomorrow...

was celebrated with a trip to our favorite treat stop for some yummy liquid concoctions and some sugar cookies. Not a bad way to go out summa 2014!
