Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
~Acts 2:38
I am so grateful for this bitter sweet day. Bitter because G was my last baby to be baptized and that means that I am moving on to another stage in my life of motherhood (being old). Bitter because I was missing my mom and dad, grandma and grandpa Bass, so much and couldn't help but feel sad on such a special day. I know they were there though, both doing the job that grandpa's do and that is to be a witness. They were both being those special witnesses and I am grateful to know that my special angels were there.
Today was sweet for so many more reasons than bitter. The number one reason is that Gentry chose to follow his Savior Jesus Christ and take the first step through the gate and enter onto the straight and narrow path. I am so grateful for his decision and I know he is choosing the right. I have no words to say how grateful I was to be able to watch my worthy firstborn lead my baby into the waters of baptism. What a blessing for parents to witness.
It was sweet to hear the blessing given my a worthy father confirming Gentry a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and give him the gift of the Holy Ghost. It is always such a powerful phrase to hear Xandi say the words "receive the Holy Ghost", and I pray that Gentry continues to receive that gift on a daily basis and learns to listen to those sweet promptings and also utilizes the awesome gift of the atonement and learns to understand the importance of both of those amazing gifts that our Father in Heaven has given us to help us return to Him. I am still learning how to use those special gifts. They amaze me and help me understand just how much we are loved.
It was so sweet to have our family and friends there to shower our boy with love. He loved every minute of today. We love our families so much and are so grateful for the sacrifices they make for us! It meant the world to us to know that we are loved even by family that might not agree with our life and the choices we make. They are good eggs.
Today was a very special day.
